SBF - there was a congregation in the Stevenston which was at the centre of the Panorama paedophile scandal. The resulting scandal caused changes in the congregation and elders.

periodically i go through the links and check to see if they're still registered as charities and if the location of the congregation is the same.. instead of posting a large list of changes all at once, i will be adding each change that i find in a new reply to this thread.. please check back here periodically.. truthseeker.

SBF - several years ago the original Kilbirnie KH was sold and a new one built in the town of Stevenston - but it was still called the Kilbirnie congregation.
At the beginning of 2018 their KH was closed - pending an alleged "refurbishment." The congregation was then assigned to share the nearby Irvine KH until the mythical refurbishment was carried out.
The Kilbirnie KH has been lying empty for the past 9 months with no signs of a refurb being started. And since Irvine KH has recently splashed out a bit of cash on a very professional sign which details the added congregation meeting times, it looks a certainty that Kilbirnie KH will soon appear on Rightmove.
LOL - just checked JW.BORG web site. Not only have they NOT updated the Irvine congregation's Sunday meeting time to 10.00 am, the same 'phone number for both congregations has either changed or is disconnected.

My Mom's Challenge to Me
by lriddle80 inso my jw mom messages me on facebook last night and says she wants me, for a month, to read the bible, but first pray using the name jehovah and in jesus name and then read it with an open mind.
she is so ridiculous!
first of all, i do pray but i usually just say father and i always pray in jesus name and i find it ironic that she is saying i should have an open mind when hers is closed.

i didn't contradict her - she's far too close to the end, but if it had been a younger jw i'd have suggested this:.
"isn't it a pity that the society doesn't have a section on its web site where it could post photographs of all the new kingdom halls that are getting built every week/month?

If it did that, it would really encourage all the brothers & sisters who are having to give up their halls and share with other congregations."

Adding insult to injury when the WT kicks out a congregation from their hall
by nowwhat? innot only does the organization confiscate the hall the congregation owns.
but then the former congregants are told to continue to pay for utilities and they are still responsible for upkeep and maintenance.
so they still have to cut the grass etc.

LOL - looks like Kilbirnie KH will be displaying a "For Sale" sign very soon.
Apparently Irvine KH (where the Kilbirnie JW's have been attending for the past 10 months) now has a permanent and reasonably expensive looking new sign erected. The sign shows the meeting times for both congregations - Sunday 10.00 am & Thursday 7.00 pm. and Sunday 2.00 pm & Wednesday 7.00 pm.
The Branch said several months ago that Kilbirnie KH was "scheduled for refurbishment." Lying shysters!

while i was not interviewed, if i was asked this question i would say that i wish i had known in 1975, when i was 18, that i was raised in a cult and that the continued focus on armageddon over my lifetime was a cruel joke.

Do Jehovah`s Witnesses lie to receive Government benefits ?
by smiddy3 injehovah`s witnesses do not respect the ,governments of any nation from my experience with "witnesses" over 33 years as a card carrying member.
the governments are to be exploited taking advantage of all the provisions govt`s, hand out to their citizens.after all the govts, are under the control of satan the devil ,he is the ruler of this world and is at enmity with god.. so they feel justified in practicing deception as they the gov`ts.
being opposer`s of truth have no right to know the real truth.. i personally knew of pioneers who had no intention of finding work but were happy to take unemployment benefits from the govt.

@ sir82 - In the UK there is a benefit called Personal Independence Payment. (formerly called Disability Living Allowance) The T&C's of this benefit were dramatically changed in recent years due to abuses and fraud, resulting in very many individuals wrongly losing it and unknown numbers committing suicide.
To qualify for the payment, a person has to complete a 38 page questionnaire, provide doctor/specialist verification of the disability, and then attend a medical examination by a "health professional" from a private company - whose remit is to confirm/disprove the claimant's statements regarding the disability.
If a person is awarded the benefit, they can either take a cash payment every 4 weeks or join what is called the MOTABILITY scheme which allows them to use the money as payment for the lease of a car for 3 years. As such, the term "free car" is a misnomer.
Depending on which model/make of car is selected, an initial deposit may be required.
I personally know of JW's who have falsely claimed this benefit in the past. Whether they still qualify since the rules were tightened, IDK.
